ROSEMARY & MELIH

CYLBURN MASION IN BALTIMORE, MARYLAND

There's a particular kind of bride who knows the moment she sees it. Rosemary spotted this gown on Instagram, booked an appointment, came in, tried it on, and bought it on the spot! The dress is 1980s: a full-skirted ivory taffeta ball gown with a ruched sweetheart bodice, dramatic off-the-shoulder sleeves, and three hand-sewn beaded floral appliqués that catch the light like tiny constellations. It is show-stopping.

She and Melih married at Cylburn Mansion in Baltimore under a sailcloth tent as the sun went down, surrounded by intricate tile-print table runners, jewel-toned lanterns, and colorful florals. The photographs by Mary Bell say the rest — the first look laughter, the recessional joy, the golden hour portraits with the gown pooling behind her in the grass. This is what a vintage wedding gown looks like when it finds its person. Truly magical!
