Downtown Charlottesville Elopement Shoot

Elopements are special because of the intimacy and spontaneity if the moment. Of strangers smiling and sending you well wishes, and restaurants cheering as you pass, all feeling like they are a part of your little secret. I knew I wanted to create this feeling in a modern and slightly irreverent way with one of the coolest and edgiest couples I know. David & Valerie have a way of making everyone feel welcome and seen, and like you’ve been friends with them forever.

As I brainstormed our elopement shoot, I decided to create a bouquet myself, with a mix of Trader Joe’s and local wildflowers. I wrapped it in pages of old copies of The New Yorker with some ribbons. They grabbed their roller skates and skateboard because they wanted to incorporate moments that felt true to who they are as a couple. We explored the streets of the Charlottesville Downtown Mall, stopped by the courthouse, and decided to grab a slice of Christian’s pizza while we were at it. And we had so much fun!

Casey Smith Photography made all of our photo dreams come true, and I cannot recommend her enough! Check out some of the magic that was created below.

xx Bree
